Name character limit[edit source]

Wasn't sure how to edit that in on the main page, never seen such a structure before(templates). Anyhow, the character limit is 40, including spaces. --Rasikko (talk) 2018-03-10T01:50:32 (EST)

Hey which property did you want to make edits to? The templates are used share a single property description across many pages. Scrivener07 (talk) 2018-03-12T04:05:14 (EDT)
This portion: 'Name: The object's name as it will appear within the game world and user interface menus.' on the perk main page. --Rasikko (talk) 2018-03-15T03:05:33 (EDT)
This property: Template:Editor:Property:Name --Rasikko (talk) 2018-03-15T03:06:26 (EDT)
Check out all the templates used for editor dialog properties at Editor Properties. Changes made to the Template:Editor:Property:Name will be automatically reflected on all pages that use it. The name property is one of the most used properties among Forms. This is a list of all the pages that link to the name property Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Editor:Property:Name. Also if your editing a page that uses templates you can find a link to each one at the bottom of the page (while editing). Another tip is you can see what links to any page by clicking the tools link of the left navigation. What are your proposed changes for the name property? Scrivener07 (talk) 2018-03-15T08:16:41 (EDT)
Is the name property limited to 40 characters on just a Perk or does this apply to all name properties. Scrivener07 (talk) 2018-03-15T08:21:50 (EDT)
No, it doesn't apply to all name properties. I tested with actors up to 320 characters, and Terminals up to 570. So nah, I'm not going to change that property when there appears to be higher limits(or no limit) for other forms. --Rasikko (talk) 2018-03-16T03:23:53 (EDT)
I added the note to the end of the name description, but for this page only. You can mix normal text and templates on the same line. The template is only affected if you edit it directly. You can add character limits to other forms in the same way I did for Perk. I hope this helps and thanks for your contributions. Scrivener07 (talk) 2018-03-16T05:07:30 (EDT)
