Regarding LAND Records[edit source]

I've gone ahead and added the following information supplied by Arthmoor to Precombined_References for those new to modding who search here first while learning the kit; however, upon re-reading this page, I'm not sure if it needs to be added anywhere else on the wiki, if the references page is the correct place, or if it needed to be added to Cell instead. There does not appear to be a page here with a written optimization tutorial for new users who do not have or have not accessed Discord serves with the info. Unless I've overlooked it - which would not surprise me. Apologies if I have.

Also, I'm not sure if LTEX records are connected to the system as well. I do know that LTEX record changes result in performance loss for some console users, specifically with mods that remove GNAM records or adjust HNAM or adjust the grass density to 0 on GRAS records, while other users report no performance loss at all with the same or similar load orders.

The UFO4P team ran into the issue when attempting to make adjustments to the height data on the landscape in an effort not to turn off precombination.

Added:

Altering Landscape data in a Cell appears to turn off precombination. In fact, anything that changes a LAND record on a cell appears to do it.

References will need to be re-combined after adjusting LAND records prior to publishing to mitigate any potential performance issues. While it should be considered a Best Practice in regards to editing and optimizing cell data, this is especially important where consoles are concerned as they do not have the processing fidelity required to handle the additional system strain. File size and compatibility will have to be the trade offs for a smoother experience.
